What should we not do on Chaturthi?

The idol is then adorned with a sacred thread (Janve) on the left shoulder and adorned with a sandalwood paste tilak on the forehead and garlands; Durva grass and red flowers are offered to Ganesha. Sankashti Chaturthi is an auspicious Hindu festival celebrated on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha (dark lunar phase) and is dedicated to Lord, According to the Hindu calendar, there are two ‘Chaturthi Tithis’ in every lunar month. Sankashti Chaturthi falls after the first full moon of the lunar month and the second one which is called ‘Vinayaka Chaturthi’ comes after the new moon in Shukla Paksha.
If Sankashti Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, then it is called ‘’ and is considered a highly auspicious day for observing fast. On this day, the devotees pray to Lord Ganesha for themselves as well as their families for health and prosperity. The followers need to get up early in the morning and dedicate their whole day to Lord Ganesha. They should bath and wear new clothes before starting the prayers. Sankashti Chaturthi Sankashti Chaturthi is an auspicious festival dedicated to Lord Ganesh, who is also known as Vighnaharta (the destroyer of all problems). - Angarak was a brilliant student and learned about worshipping Ganesha from his father rishi Bharadwaj, who himself was a great follower of Lord Ganesha.
- As Angarak grew up with the teachings of his father, he himself became a great devotee of Lord Ganesha.
He started worshiping Ganesha for His darshan (sight) and blessings. On Magh Krishna Chaturthi (on Tuesday), Lord Ganesh blessed him and asked him for a wish. Angarak requested that his only wish was to merge with Lord Ganesha’s name forever. The Lord became happy with his worship and granted his wish and declared that whoever worships Lord Ganesha on this day will be granted all that he/ she prays for.

Vinayaka Chaturthi February 2023: Date and time – Vinayaka Chaturthi starts at 3.24 am on February 23 and will end at 1.33 pm on February 24. The puja time for Vinayaka Chaturthi starts at 11: 26 AM and ends at 01: 43 PM on February 23. The devotees cannot eat any food but can only consume Water, milk, fruit juice, etc.
