Pro Kabaddi League (also known as Vivo Pro Kabbadi for sponsorship reasons) or abbreviated to PKL is an Indian men’s professional Kabaddi league. It was launched in 2014 and is broadcast on Star Sports, However, Season 8 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the season commenced on 22 December 2021.

The league’s inception was influenced by the popularity of the Kabaddi tournament at the 2006 Asian Games. 3 Divide into two teams of seven players each. Traditionally, four players from each team take each side of the field, leaving each team with three players held in reserve. However, some variations of Kabaddi call for all seven players to take the field at once.

- If the raider tags any defending players and makes it back to his side, the players he tagged are out.
- If a raider is captured and cannot pass back over the midline before he runs out of breath, he is out.
- If any player (raiding or defending) steps outside the boundary lines, he is out (unless he was deliberately pulled or shoved, in which case, the offending player is out.)
- If a team has three unproductive raids in a row, the third raider is out. An unproductive raid occurs when a raider cannot score any points (or loses points) during a raid. - If a defending team member enters the raider’s side of the court before his team is officially given the chance to raid, he is out.
6 “Revive” players by getting an opponent out. Whenever your team gets a member of the opponent team out, you have a chance to bring back (or “revive”) someone on your team who has previously been ruled out. This is true for both raiding and defending teams.
- Players are revived in the order they were gotten out — bringing back players out of order results in a point for the other team.

Pankaj Mohite pulled off a brilliant raid in the opening minutes of the match as Puneri Paltan inched ahead at 3-1. However, the Panthers fought back and levelled the score at 3-3.

But Gaurav Khatri tackled Arjun Deshwal and helped Puneri Paltan regain the lead at 5-4 in the 9th minute. Thereafter, V Ajith Kumar stepped up his game as the Panthers levelled the score at 6-6. Both sides played out a neck and neck contest until Mohammad Nabibakhsh picked up a raid and a tackle point in quick succession and helped Puneri Paltan take the lead at 10-8 in the 16th minute.

However, V Ajith Kumar caught out Sanket Sawant and Gaurav Khatri to help the Panthers get in front at 12-10 in the 19th minute. The Panthers managed to hold the lead at 14-12 on the stroke of half-time. The Panthers then tackled Aditya Shinde and inflicted an All-Out in the 22nd minute to take a substantial lead at 18-13.

However, Akash Shinde pulled off a multi-point raid and Puneri Paltan tackled V Ajith Kumar soon after to get within touching distance of the Panthers’ score at 17-18. But Ankush tackled Akash Shinde and helped the Panthers extend their lead further. However, soon after Aditya Shinde caught out Ankush and Sahul Kumar to keep Puneri Paltan in the game at 20-23.

But the Panthers’ captain Sunil Kumar pulled off a couple of brilliant tackle points as they continued to stay in the lead at 27-22 in the 34th minute.
However, Puneri Paltan didn’t give up and tackled Deshwal in the 38th minute and stayed in the contest at 25-29.
